2021-2022 MASL Rookie of the Year Joins the Mesquite Outlaws

2021-2022 Major Arena Soccer League Rookie of the Year, Luiz Morales, joins the Mesquite Outlaws roster for the 2022-2023 season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Morales is a forward from Irving, Texas. He graduated from Irving High School, where he was the unanimous Offensive MVP of the district and was named to the Dallas Morning News’ First Team All-Area. Morales also played for teams in the Dallas area such as, Irving FC, Fort Worth FC, and D’Feeters Kicks Soccer Club. Morales also joined the US Men’s National Futsal Team, where over the summer he scored a hattrick against France.

Morales was previously signed by the Mesquite Outlaws in the 2019-2020 season but did not officially play in the Major Arena Soccer League until the 2021-2022 season. During regular season and playoffs, Morales played 20 games, scored 23 goals, had 8 assists, and 84 shots on goal.

Morales was one to watch out for early in the 2021-2022 season. He became one of the most “dangerous” offensive players in the league with skills and speed. He had he nickname “Cebollas”, Spanish for onion, because he “made defenders cry”.  At the end of the season, the Major Arena Soccer League had a league voted awards, where Morales was named the 2021-2022 MASL Rookie of the Year.

With the hype from the previous season, the future is looking bright for Morales in the upcoming 2022-2023 season. With his skills, along with his chemistry with the other Outlaws players, the Mesquite Outlaws are bound to be a huge contender in the league after the two-year hiatus.

The Mesquite Outlaws begin their regular season on December 3rd against the Monterrey Flash at the Mesquite Arena in Mesquite, Texas. Individual, including home opener, and season tickets are on sale NOW! For more information email Harris Partain at hpartain@mesquiteoutlaws.com or call (214) 396-0923.
